A Minneapolis driver was speeding at least 60 miles per hour when his SUV crashed into another vehicle stopped by a train, causing a chain reaction collision that injured two people critically. Mustafa Omer Hassan, 49, of Fridley, was driving the Toyota Rav4 and hit Janise Hendrickson’s Cadillac Escalade from behind as it waited for the train to pass on northbound Central. The impact pushed both SUVs into the train, causing one to catch fire briefly before being extinguished by a passerby. Both drivers were taken to HCMC with serious injuries; Hassan was upgraded to satisfactory condition, while Hendrickson remains in critical condition with a broken pelvis.
