A large study following over 200,000 people for 30 years found that diets high in butter and low in plant oils were linked to a higher risk of mortality. In contrast, those who consumed more plant-based oils had a lower risk of death from cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions. The researchers suggested that making a simple dietary swap, replacing butter with soybean or olive oil, could lead to significant long-term health benefits.
