Switch 2 Price Speculation Continues Ahead of April Direct Reveal

Nintendo Switch 2 price leaks continue to surface ahead of its reveal on April 2. The latest leak comes from Costco, which suggests the console will retail at $499.99 CAD ($280) in Canada. However, experts warn that this price point may be too optimistic and could risk making the upgrade not entirely obvious.

Comparing the Switch OLED’s current selling price of $450 CAD, it’s unlikely that Nintendo would position the new system just $50 CAD higher. This strategy might contradict the company’s goal of making its products more affordable and accessible to consumers.

Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo’s president, mentioned in an investor meeting earlier this month that the company is considering various factors, including inflation and exchange rates, when deciding on the price of the Switch 2. However, he also stated that there are no plans to change the pricing of existing hardware.

As April Direct approaches, fans eagerly await more information about the Switch 2’s release date and launch games. With speculation surrounding the console’s price continuing to build, it remains to be seen how Nintendo will balance its desire for affordability with the potential costs associated with upgrading the hardware.
