Sylvester Stallone’s Underwater Barrier Plan Sparks Outrage in Palm Beach Neighborhood

Sylvester Stallone, 78, has sparked outrage among his Palm Beach neighbors over his plans to build an underwater barrier near his $35 million mansion. The project, which aims to keep out debris and seaweed from the Intracoastal Waterway, also excludes boaters from being near the property.

The Army Corps of Engineers received Stallone’s application in January 2023, with a public comment period set to expire on Christmas Day. However, neighbors in the affluent community were only recently informed of the project, and many expressed concerns over the sudden proposal.

“I can see why you’d want to protect it,” said neighbor Bradford Gary, “but you can’t just kind of stake your claim and think you own the water.” Stallone’s daughter was also spotted experiencing a scary encounter with a stranger in New York recently.

The project has been met with skepticism, with some questioning whether Stallone owns the necessary land rights to build such a structure. The Army Corps is reviewing the project to determine if it complies with regulations, but many are concerned about the potential impact on manatees and seagrasses.

Last year, Stallone relocated from Los Angeles to Palm Beach, citing a need for change to stimulate his creativity. However, this latest move has sparked controversy in the community, with some neighbors feeling blindsided by the proposal.
