Syracuse University’s sold-out crowd of 22,340 fans witnessed a heartbreaking second-half comeback against top-ranked North Carolina in Saturday night’s ACC matchup at the JMA Wireless Dome. Despite leading the nation in total attendance 28 times since its opening in 1980, the Orange were unable to overcome a late surge from UNC, falling short with an 88-82 loss. With this setback, Syracuse drops to third place in accumulated attendance behind Duke, but remains fifth nationally in average game attendance at 18,761 fans per contest. The Orange will regroup before hosting Virginia on March 8 and face North Carolina State again on February 26.
