The affected eye drops were sold nationwide in stores and online, with a limited expiration date. Fungal contaminations of eye products can lead to serious eye infections, including partial or total blindness. No adverse events related to this recall have been reported so far, but Alcon has initiated the voluntary recall as an “abundance of caution.”
