TAG Heuer has launched its new Formula 1 Solargraph watch line, featuring a classic design inspired by the 1980s Formula 1 era. The collection includes nine unique variants, each with a bright red fiberglass bezel that pays homage to the iconic watches of the past.
The case size has been increased from the original 35mm to 38mm, while maintaining the distinctive shrouded lugs characteristic of the TAG Heuer design. The dial features applied indexes, including the TAG Heuer shield motifs at 12, 6, and 9 o’clock positions. One model features numerical markers instead of shields, and hands have been updated for better legibility.
A printed minutes track in various colors separates the dial, with minutes marked as dots and five-minute markers as rectangular bars. The date window is placed at three o’clock. The TAG Heuer logo is displayed underneath the 12 o’clock marker.
The Solargraph cal. TH50-00 movement, previously used in several Aquaracers, now powers the Formula 1 line for the first time. This solar-powered caliber can be charged in just two minutes of direct sunlight and provides a battery life of up to 10 months with no light exposure. The brand claims a 15-year lifespan for this innovative technology.
TAG Heuer has also introduced its new TH-Polylight material, used in six models, while the other three feature cases in sandblasted steel or DLC-treated steel. Three models will be available on steel bracelets, priced at CHF 1,850, and the remaining six will come with rubber straps for a price of CHF 1,750.
The collection is timed to coincide with various Formula 1 Grands Prix throughout the year. As the new release is likely to sell out quickly, fans are advised to stay tuned for more updates from Watches and Wonders.
