Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has discussed the company’s strategy for marketing Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI). In an interview with Wall Street Week, Zelnick revealed that the marketing approach will be different from previous games in the series. Unlike Red Dead Redemption 2, which had multiple trailers and a gameplay video released over three years, GTA VI’s marketing is expected to kick off closer to its release window.
Zelnick aims to balance excitement with “unmet anticipation” by releasing marketing materials relatively close to launch. This approach has similarities with Bethesda’s strategy for Fallout 4, which was announced and released within six months. With the highly anticipated game set to debut in Fall 2025, competitors are eager to guess whether GTA VI will launch on schedule or not. The current gaming landscape is nearly empty compared to previous years, making it uncertain when other major titles like Crimson Desert will be released. As analysts and fans alike wait for more information about GTA VI, the market is holding its breath in anticipation of Rockstar’s next big release.
