Target Changes Price Match Policy for Online Shopping

Target has revised its “price match” policy in response to a rough quarter, which saw sales decline 3.8% compared to the same period last year. The retailer now limits price matching to purchases made within two weeks of buying, instead of 14 days, and only applies to prices found at Target’s own stores or website.

The change comes after CEO Brian Cornell acknowledged “massive potential costs” from tariffs but said Target can offset them by diversifying suppliers and adjusting products. The company has faced backlash over its reversal on diversity, equity and inclusion programs and lower consumer confidence in recent months.
