Retail giant Target will close all its locations across the United States on Sunday, April 20, to allow employees to spend Easter with their families. The company operates nearly 2,000 stores nationwide, including three in Staten Island.
The decision comes as part of Target’s holiday schedule, which includes closures on Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, other major holidays like Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and New Year’s Day will see the retail chain remain open.
This is not an isolated incident, as big-box retailer Costco also announced it would be shutting down all its locations for 24 hours on April 20 to observe Easter. The company typically observes several major holidays, including Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and other federal holidays.
The Staten Island Target store will be open from April 18-19 before closing for the Easter Sunday observance.
