Tarrant County College (TCC) marked a significant milestone in its history as it celebrated 57 years since its establishment on July 31, 1965. The college has grown from one campus to five physical campuses and over 40,000 students are enrolled in the fall of 2023.
The institution’s influence can be seen throughout Tarrant County, with Fort Worth Mayor Pro Tem Carlos Flores stating that the college has made Fort Worth a stronger place. Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans also acknowledged the partnership between TCC and his city, saying it has fueled growth and made Mansfield a better place.
Chancellor Elva LeBlanc looked back at the college’s past, noting how many of its leaders started there before moving on to other institutions. She expressed confidence in the future, stating that TCC will continue to blaze new trails with courage and determination.
The celebration was attended by several local officials, including Arlington Mayor Jim Ross, who spoke about the flexibility provided by TCC when he took classes at the institution. Lubna Abu Raideh, a soon-to-graduate student, also shared her positive experience of attending TCC, citing the support and connections she made during her time there.
As TCC looks to the future, Chancellor LeBlanc emphasized that the trailblazing spirit that has defined the college since its inception will continue to drive its growth and success.
