Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone Spinoffs to Continue

Taylor Sheridan’s hit drama “Yellowstone” is wrapping up after five seasons, but its spinoff universe is far from over. Several shows are in the works, including prequels and new series that explore different eras of the Dutton family story.

The first spinoff, “1883,” premiered in 2021 and followed a previous generation of the Dutton family as they settled in Montana after the Civil War. The show was initially renewed for two seasons but ended with a cliffhanger that led to the creation of another series, “1923.” The upcoming prequel stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, the great-grandparents of John Dutton.

Another spinoff, “1944,” has been announced but no premiere date is set. This show will follow the Dutton family during World War II.

A spinoff focused on Beth and Rip Wheeler, played by Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, is also in development. While initially reported as a potential Season 6 for “Yellowstone,” it’s now confirmed to be a separate series. The spinoff has been given the green light after Reilly and Hauser closed deals to lead the project.

Additionally, there’s a spinoff show set at the modern-day 6666 ranch in Texas, which served as inspiration for “Yellowstone.” The show, titled “6666,” has been quiet since its initial announcement in 2021 but is expected to feature several characters from “Yellowstone,” including Jimmy.

The “Yellowstone” series finale airs on December 15, marking the end of this chapter for fans. However, with these new spinoffs, the Dutton family story will continue to unfold in different ways, offering more stories and adventures for viewers to enjoy.
