Taylor Swift’s Catalog Sees Huge Surge After Buying Back Big Machine Albums

Taylor Swift’s fans can finally enjoy her original six Big Machine albums once again, now that they’re officially “Taylor’s versions.” The news of her purchase sparked a surge in streaming and sales for the albums. According to Luminate, overall streaming for Swift’s entire catalog increased by 55.1% on Friday, with a total of 30.64 million streams in just one day.

The biggest gain was seen in her debut album “Taylor Swift” and the original version of “Speak Now,” which saw over 430% and 220% increases in global streams, respectively. Other albums, such as “Reputation” and “Fearless,” also saw significant jumps in streaming, with increases of nearly 160% and 160%, respectively.

The surge in streaming can be attributed to Swift’s decision to buy back her early catalog from Shamrock Holdings, which had previously been owned by Scooter Braun. As a result, fans no longer feel guilty about consuming the original recordings, and music supervisors will now have access to the original masters again. The news has sent shockwaves through the music industry, with many expecting Swift’s entire catalog to make an appearance on the Billboard 200 chart soon.
