TCL’s QM8K Mini-LED TV Offers Ultra-Wide Viewing Angle

TCL has announced its new flagship mini-LED TV, the QM8K series, which boasts significant improvements over its predecessor. The QM8K series offers “up to 35% more dimming zones and up to 65% higher peak brightness” than the mid-range TCL QM7K series.

The new TVs will be available in screen sizes ranging from 65 to 98 inches, with pricing starting at $2,299.99 for the 65-inch model. A key feature of the QM8K series is the CrystGlow WHVA Panel with ZeroBorder, which features an anti-reflective coating and a 40% wider color viewing angle than last year’s QM851G series.

Another notable feature is the Halo Control System, which enhances color accuracy and reduces “halo” artifacts using a new LED chip, micro lens, and Dynamic Light Algorithm. The QM8K series also features a native 144Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium Pro for gaming, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ high dynamic range formats.

One of the biggest advantages of the QM8K series is its ultra-wide viewing angle, which virtually eliminates color shift when viewing from off-center seats. This feature addresses a common weakness of mini-LED TVs, where picture contrast and colors can be affected by off-axis viewing. With its improved viewing angle, the QM8K series promises to provide a vast improvement in overall picture quality.
