Teddy Bridgewater’s NFL Return Looms as He Visits Buccaneers

Former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s return to professional football appears imminent as he visits the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday. According to ESPN, Bridgewater is expected to sign with the team. The 32-year-old quarterback had previously been suspended by his high school alma, Miami Northwestern, for providing impermissible benefits to players. He initially announced his retirement from the NFL in 2023 but later rejoined the Detroit Lions as a backup quarterback last season. Bridgewater’s suspension was related to comments he made on social media, asking fans to cover out-of-pocket costs for player expenses. The quarterback played 10 seasons in the league, including four years as a starter with the Vikings and Panthers. With current starter Baker Mayfield under contract, Bridgewater’s return would provide the Buccaneers with additional depth at quarterback.
