Catelynn Lowell and husband Tyler Baltierra have spoken out about why their daughter Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis, blocked them from contact. During a recent episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Lowell revealed that the couple told their adoption counselor they needed to block her due to mental health concerns.
Lowell explained that she felt emotional when she met Carly in the hospital as a newborn and was left feeling anxious and overwhelmed by the situation. She claims that Teresa later instructed their adoption counselor to tell them they could no longer send gifts, which Lowell refused to keep secret.
Baltierra also expressed his frustration, saying, “You have my kid, you can’t take my story too.” The couple has defended their decision to maintain open communication with Carly, who is now 16. Lowell stated that she doesn’t believe Carly wants more contact with her parents due to the couple’s past behavior.
The adoption was initially open, allowing Lowell and Baltierra to receive photos and see Carly in person once a year. However, as Carly grew older, things changed, and the couple feels they are no longer being allowed to maintain their relationship with her.
