Teen Suspect Arrested in Conservative Commentator’s Fatal Shooting

A 22-year-old Utah man named Tyler Robinson has been arrested for the fatal shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on Tuesday. Robinson had previously criticized Kirk’s views and was identified as a suspect after a family friend alerted authorities to his possible involvement.

Robinson, who attended Pine View High School in St. George, Utah, briefly attended Utah State University in Logan before dropping out. He is now a third-year student at Dixie Technical College’s electrical apprenticeship program.

At the time of the shooting, Robinson was living with his parents in Washington, Utah. His mother posted videos on Facebook about her family and their activities, which showed no overtly political content.

Investigations found that Robinson had engraved anti-fascist messages on bullet casings and mentioned Kirk’s scheduled appearance at Utah Valley University before the shooting.

Robinson was arrested without incident late on Thursday, bringing an end to a 33-hour manhunt for Kirk’s killer. The motive behind the shooting is still unclear.
