A 15-year-old boy named Aundre Loyd, also known as “Baby Dre” or “Lil Dre,” was shot and killed at a birthday party in north Minneapolis on Sunday night. Authorities have not identified the person who pulled the trigger.
The victim attended Sojourner Truth Academy in Minneapolis and had just earned his eighth-grade diploma this year. He was described by his family as an outgoing and loving person, known for his love of basketball.
According to preliminary information from police, several people were gathered in a basement when a firearm discharged, striking Loyd once in the head, killing him instantly.
