Bandai Namco has confirmed that a new character will be revealed at The Game Awards 2024, alongside a teaser for Season 2 of Tekken World Tour. The company had initially denied any plans for character reveals before the event.
The trailer for Tekken 8’s second season DLC content was released, revealing a helicopter scene featuring Nina, where one of its rockets displays an insignia similar to Anna’s lipstick mark. This suggests that Anna may be the first DLC challenger in Season 2, given their complicated history as sisters who often compete against each other.
The trailer also hinted at a new third-party fighter, possibly making their debut in Tekken 8. Although no character was revealed, fans speculate it could be the first external addition to the game’s roster since Tekken 7.
Furthermore, the trailer announced that the Spring 2025 update will bring significant changes, including a major balance patch and new moves for every character. This patch is expected to impact player tier lists, leading to shifts in competitive play.
The Game Awards 2024 ceremony will take place on December 12, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. PST, providing an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming DLC characters and updates.
