E-commerce platform Temu is increasing import charges on goods shipped from China by up to 145%, citing President Donald Trump’s tariffs. The new fees, which surpass the prices of the products themselves in some cases, have raised concerns among US consumers. A summer dress sold on Temu would cost $44.68 after adding $26.21 in import charges, nearly doubling its original price. This move comes as both Temu and Shein warned earlier that they would raise prices starting April 25 due to the tariffs. The significant increase is largely attributed to a 145% tariff on Chinese-made products, combined with the end of a customs exemption for goods under $800.
