Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin remains without a contract extension despite the team’s efforts to secure his future. According to the team’s General Manager Adam Peters, the Commanders are committed to signing McLaurin, but so far, no deal has been reached. This lack of progress led to McLaurin skipping training camp, making him the only player absent from the team.
McLaurin is entering the final year of his current contract, which pays $15.5 million in base salary, a figure dwarfed by Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase’s $40.25 million per season. The 29-year-old has consistently performed well, topping 1,000 yards in each of the past five seasons and producing a career-high 13 touchdowns last season with quarterback Jayden Daniels.
McLaurin’s frustration stems from the slow pace of negotiations, which will likely continue as the team seeks to secure his future.
