Terry McLaurin Signs 3-Year Extension With Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders have agreed to a three-year contract extension with wide receiver Terry McLaurin, worth $96 million, as training camp approaches. McLaurin had initially sought a new deal and was absent from summer workouts before negotiating a contract that will keep him in Washington until at least 2026.

The two-time Pro Bowl receiver has been a key contributor to the team’s success, recording at least 1,000 receiving yards in five consecutive seasons. Last year, he had 82 catches for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns, and is expected to be the focal point of the offense once again. Giants head coach Brian Daboll praised McLaurin as a “dynamic, versatile player” who makes a lot of plays.

McLaurin’s extension is a significant boost to the Commanders’ offense, and comes after he was placed on the physically unable to perform list during training camp. The deal is also a testament to McLaurin’s importance to the team, with co-owner Magic Johnson calling him an “outstanding leader” who “does tremendous things in the Washington area community”.
