Tesla Arson Defendants Face Serious Consequences Under Law

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has vowed to hold perpetrators accountable for allegedly using Molotov cocktails to set fire to Tesla properties, stating that the “days of committing crimes without consequence have ended.” Three individuals are facing serious charges carrying a minimum penalty of five years and up to 20 years in prison.

Attorney General Bondi’s statement comes after recent attacks on Tesla properties across the US. The defendants were arrested for allegedly attempting to light Teslas on fire with Molotov cocktails, as well as possessing materials used to produce incendiary weapons.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has also pledged support for law enforcement officers who successfully intervene in such incidents, promising a pay raise and promotion if they do so. The state plans to patrol Tesla dealerships to enforce the law and hold individuals accountable.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently announced that the company has increased security nationwide, activating Sentry Mode on all vehicles at stores to prevent similar acts of vandalism.
