Tesla Banned from Vancouver Auto Show Amid Safety Concerns

Tesla’s display was removed from the Vancouver International Auto Show due to safety concerns. The event organizers cited “multiple opportunities to voluntarily withdraw” after the company failed to address concerns. This decision came amidst a backdrop of protests and controversy surrounding Elon Musk.

In recent weeks, Tesla has faced backlash over protests in US cities, including a shooting incident in Las Vegas where vehicles were set on fire. Additionally, Musk’s comments on Canadian citizenship sparked a petition with over 375,000 signatures.

The company is also dealing with declining sales for the first time due to increased competition and controversy surrounding Musk’s past role in the Trump administration. Tesla reported its first drop in annual sales in history, with used car prices falling at more than double the rate of average cars.

Research by CarGurus shows that pre-owned Tesla prices are falling 7.3% year-over-year, outpacing the overall decline of 2.7% for used cars. This marks a significant challenge for the electric automaker as it navigates its market position.
