Tesla Expands Robotaxi Network Across US and India

Tesla is rapidly expanding its Robotaxi network, with new permits approved in Arizona and plans for multiple cities across the US. The move marks a significant step forward for the company’s autonomous vehicle service.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, Tesla applied for Robotaxi permits on June 26th and has expressed interest in operating within the Phoenix Metro area. The department expects a decision by the end of July.

Tesla is also hiring vehicle operators and FSD testers for its robotaxis, with positions available in cities including Tempe, Arizona; Palo Alto, California; Fremont, California; San Diego, California; Henderson, Nevada; Jacksonville, Florida, and others.

The company’s generalized autonomy approach allows it to target new locations quickly, without the need for extensive pre-mapping. This strategy highlights Tesla’s advantage in deploying robotaxis nationwide.

Meanwhile, Tesla has begun rolling out map updates for India and Europe, marking its entry into these regions. The Indian launch is significant, as it requires integrating local points of interest and regional road information correctly.

Tesla’s 2025 Annual Shareholder Meeting is scheduled for November 6th, where shareholders can expect updates on the Robotaxi Network pilot, Cybercab program, and other major initiatives.
