Tesla Faces Woes Amid Elon Musk’s $29 Billion Bonus

Tesla is facing multiple challenges, including a potential $243 million fine over a fatal Autopilot crash, accusations of covering up evidence, and plummeting sales in Europe, China, and the US. However, despite these issues, CEO Elon Musk is set to receive a $29 billion bonus.

The company’s Autopilot system has been found liable in a fatal crash, with Tesla ordered to pay up to $243 million. Additionally, there have been allegations that Tesla withheld data, lied, and misdirected law enforcement and plaintiffs to avoid blame in the crash.

In Europe, Tesla’s sales are experiencing a free fall, with the company struggling to compete with other electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers. In China and the US, sales are also declining, further exacerbating the company’s financial woes.

Despite these challenges, Musk is eligible for a $29 billion bonus, which is part of his compensation package as Tesla’s CEO. The bonus is tied to the company’s stock price performance and is set to be paid out if Musk’s shares are worth $50 billion or more at the end of 2023.

Separately, Costco’s EV marketplace has celebrated its first half-birthday with a range of new deals on electric vehicles, including the Chevy Silverado EV, which boasts over 1,000 miles of range on a single charge. The company is also promoting eco-friendly products from brands like Retrospec and Blueetti, which offer portable power stations and e-bikes for outdoor adventures.

In other news, Mary Kay has launched an electric version of its popular Pink Cadillac OPTIQ model, while the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV Work Truck has set a new world record by driving over 1,060 miles on a single charge.
