Tesla Owners Speak Out Against Protests, Concerns Raised Over Light Rail and Prison Transparency

Tesla owners are calling on protesters to stop targeting them, saying their vehicles and staff are not the issue. The controversy stems from Elon Musk’s business dealings and policies, particularly his focus on space exploration and social media.

Robert Porath, a Tesla owner in Boulder, wrote: “Elon Musk is creating problems with his actions, not the cars or their drivers.” Porath and his wife bought their Tesla two years ago to reduce their emissions and support the electric vehicle industry. They recently added a sticker to their car that reads “I bought this before Elon went crazy.”

Meanwhile, RTD riders are expressing frustration over the light rail system’s frequent cancellations and delays. Deborah Mueller-Hruza, who regularly takes the train downtown, said: “Four times after taking the train downtown from the south, we were stranded for the return, either canceled or delayed indefinitely.” She hopes that RTD will improve its service to attract more riders.

The recent administrative leave of warden officials at three Colorado prisons has also raised concerns about transparency. Luke Danielson, a resident of Gunnison, wrote: “Calling this a ‘personnel matter’ is hardly an adequate justification for concealing the facts about a matter of intense public importance.” He hopes that state leaders will provide more clarity on what’s happening.

These letters highlight various issues in the community, from transportation and public safety to government transparency.
