Tesla Protester Held Without Bail After Driving SUV into Crowd

A 44-year-old West Palm Beach man has been held without bail after driving his black Nissan SUV onto a curb where protesters were gathered outside a local Tesla dealership. The incident occurred during a protest targeting the role of Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, in President Donald Trump’s administration.

According to police reports, the driver yelled at two women who were protesting peacefully before driving into the curb, causing them to jump out of the way to avoid being struck. Investigators also found the Nissan parked on the curb with multiple people around it. The man, identified as Andrew Dutil, had told dealership employees he supports Tesla.

This incident is part of a series of protests and incidents targeting Tesla dealerships and owners nationwide since Trump’s return to office in January. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled a pretrial detention hearing for Dutil, who will be represented by the county Public Defender’s Office.
