Tesla Recalls 694,304 Vehicles Due to Tire Pressure System Issue

Tesla has issued a massive recall of over 700,000 vehicles due to an issue with their tire pressure monitoring system. The affected models include 2017-2025 Model 3, 2020-2025 Model Y, and 2024 Cybertruck vehicles.

The recall is estimated to affect approximately 694,304 vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Owners of affected vehicles will be notified on February 15, 2025. Meanwhile, Tesla stores and service centers will receive notification about the recall “on or shortly after” December 19.

The issue with the tire pressure light may not adequately warn drivers of potential under-inflation, increasing the risk of a collision. To address this problem, Tesla is issuing a free over-the-air software release to the affected vehicles.

According to the NHTSA, there have been only 76 warranty claims and one field report related to the issue. However, people have reached out to Tesla for more information, but did not receive an immediate response.

This recall follows another previous recall in April, where nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks were affected by a problem with the accelerator pedal.
