Tesla Recalls Most of Its Cybertrucks Over Safety Concerns

Tesla is recalling nearly all its Cybertruck vehicles due to a safety concern. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall for over 46,000 Cybertrucks, citing an issue with the exterior panel that can detach while driving and pose a risk of collision.

The problem affects the stainless steel strip, called a cant rail assembly, which runs along the sides of the windshield. The NHTSA warns that if this panel detaches, it can create a road hazard for other drivers, increasing the risk of an accident.

Tesla will replace the affected panels free of charge and has already begun notifying owners through letters. The recall affects all 2024 and 2025 model year Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2025.

This is the eighth recall for Tesla’s Cybertruck since its deliveries began over a year ago. Other recalls have addressed issues with electric inverters, acceleration pedals, windshield wipers, and display screens.

The news comes as Tesla faces increasing competition in the electric vehicle market and has been under attack from critics who view Elon Musk’s management style as autocratic. The company’s shares have plummeted 42% in 2025, reflecting growing concerns about its sales performance.

Despite the recall, Cybertruck owners can contact Tesla customer service for more information or visit the NHTSA website for guidance on what to do next.
