Tesla Stock Surges as Investors Focus on Future Growth

Tesla investors are looking beyond the company’s recent earnings results and focusing on its potential for massive growth in robot sales and other areas. CEO Elon Musk spoke about his vision for $10 trillion in robot sales during a conference call, which seems to be resonating with investors.

Despite relatively weak fourth-quarter results, Tesla shares appear “bulletproof” according to some analysts. Deepwater Asset Management’s Gene Munster wrote that investors are more interested in the company’s future growth prospects than its current profitability. Wall Street analysts have mixed views on the stock, with some raising their price targets and others expressing caution.

Bank of America analysts noted that investor sentiment has shifted positively towards Tesla, but warned of high execution risk. UBS analysts took a different view, calling Tesla “more than an auto company” due to its focus on artificial intelligence. The stock has recently surged over 2% and has more than doubled in value over the past year.
