Tesla Vandalism Sparks FBI Investigation into Possible Domestic Terrorism

A person in black shot and set fire to several Tesla vehicles at a repair facility in Las Vegas, prompting the FBI to investigate what appears to be a domestic terrorism incident. The attack targeted a Tesla facility, with 911 calls reporting a fire around 2:45 a.m.

Police discovered multiple vehicles on fire and spray paint with the word “Resist” on the front doors of the business. The incident is part of a wave of attacks on showrooms, charging stations, and Tesla vehicles across the US. US Attorney General Pamela Bondi has charged several perpetrators in cases involving long-term mandatory minimum sentences.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is leading the investigation, with no reported injuries but significant financial implications for Tesla due to declining sales. Elon Musk attributed the attacks to “evil” motives, stating Tesla had done nothing to deserve them.

US electric vehicle sales have been affected by increased competition and backlash against Musk’s role in the Trump administration, with Tesla reporting its first annual drop in sales. The company faces challenges in key markets such as China and Europe.
