Tesla’s Model Y facelift, dubbed the “Juniper,” brings significant performance upgrades compared to its closest competitor, the Model 3 Long Range AWD.
The new Model Y is notably larger, with a 1.9-inch wider track and 7.2 inches taller height than the Model 3. Its powertrain also gains a slight edge, though both vehicles share similar efficient technologies.
Performance-wise, the Juniper boasts improved acceleration to 60 mph in just 4 seconds, outpacing the Model 3’s 5.8 seconds. The Model Y also features Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system, a first for its lineup.
Battery range remains competitive with the Model 3, offering up to 176 miles on a single charge. While pricing reflects the added features and performance improvements, the Juniper still starts at $61,630, significantly higher than the previous Model Y but competitive against the updated Model 3 trims.
