Texans Hire Nick Caley as New OC to ‘Get Over the Hump’

Texans Coach DeMeco Ryans introduced new offensive coordinator Nick Caley on Thursday, aiming to elevate the team’s performance. Ryans believes Caley can help his team achieve their next level of success. Despite leading the Texans to back-to-back division titles and home wild-card wins in two seasons, they have struggled offensively in postseason games.

Ryans stated that he wants to take the organization to new heights and sees Caley’s hiring as crucial to achieving this goal. Caley expressed confidence in quarterback C.J. Stroud, saying he has “the it factor.” The decision comes after a step back from Stroud in his second season, following the departure of Bobby Slowik as offensive coordinator.

Ryans acknowledged the difficulty of letting go of Slowik, considering their close friendship and past working relationship.
