A freak accident on the dance floor at a wedding in Texas left bride Star Torres with a severe skull fracture, forcing her to spend time in the hospital instead of enjoying her honeymoon.
Star, 28, explained that she took a bad fall and fell headfirst onto the concrete floor. Her husband Jacob, 29, has been by her side throughout her recovery, saying “This is what marriage is all about, in sickness and in health.”
The couple’s wedding initially went off without a hitch, with heartfelt vows, a sweet first dance, and a beautiful cake-cutting ceremony. However, disaster struck when Star took a tumble while dancing with friends.
“I just took a bad fall… dumb, just not paying attention,” Star said of the accident. “I fell headfirst onto the concrete floor and cracked my skull.”
Star was rushed to the hospital, where she spent four days in intensive care for possible brain bleeding. She is now recovering at the trauma wing, wearing a neck brace.
Despite her injuries, Jacob has been supportive, postponing his new job to care for Star. “We’ve had a traumatic experience on what was supposed to be a perfect day,” he said. “But we’re grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family and friends.”
The couple has postponed their honeymoon due to her injuries but remains optimistic about a full recovery.
