Texas Vehicle Inspection Law Takes Effect in January 2025

A new vehicle inspection law is set to take effect in Texas on January 1, 2025. The law requires all vehicles registered in the state to undergo a biennial inspection to ensure road safety.

Under the new law, vehicle owners will need to have their vehicles inspected every two years, with the first inspection due by December 31, 2024. The inspections will be conducted by certified technicians and will include checks on tire pressure, brakes, and suspension.

The purpose of the law is to improve road safety in Texas by identifying potential hazards and ensuring that vehicles are safe for the road. Vehicle owners who fail to comply with the new law may face fines and penalties.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced plans to increase enforcement and education efforts to help vehicle owners prepare for the new law.
