Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson didn’t participate in his school’s Pro Day, sparking curiosity about his performance at the Scouting Combine. At the event, Johnson ran a 4.51-yard dash, ranking 29th out of 39 receivers and setting a new record for slowest time under 170 pounds since 2003.
When asked if he’s concerned about his combine time, Johnson said, “You can watch my tape and see that nobody catches me.” He emphasizes that the 40-yard dash only shows how fast one can run, rather than defining their football skills.
Notably, Johnson excelled in other drills, including a 6.65-second three-cone drill, the fastest among all receivers at the combine. In his two seasons at Oregon, Johnson boasts impressive stats: 169 receptions for 2,080 yards and 20 touchdowns.
