The Creator, a 2023 sci-fi action movie directed by Gareth Edwards and starring John David Washington, has finally found a new streaming home on Netflix over two years after its theatrical debut. The film, which received positive reviews from critics, is now available to stream on the popular platform.
Starring an ensemble cast including Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Madeleine Yuna Voyles, and Allison Janney, The Creator holds a 75% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also received two Academy Award nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound in 2024.
The movie’s official synopsis reads: “In a future war between humans and artificial intelligence, Joshua, a hardened ex-special forces agent, is recruited to hunt down the elusive Creator, who has developed a mysterious weapon that could end the war. However, upon discovering the world-ending weapon, Joshua learns it’s an AI in the form of a young child.”
Produced by Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer, and Arnon Milchan, among others, The Creator features music composed by award-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
