However, not all fans are thrilled about the upcoming season. Some have expressed frustration with certain characters, particularly Monica (played by Melissa O’Neil), who has been a part of the show since Season 6. Many feel that her storyline has run its course and is due for an end.
Additionally, some viewers have expressed disappointment with the character of Sergeant Lucy Chen (played by Melissa O’Neil), citing their lack of chemistry with co-star Tim Bradford (Eric Winter). Others have noted that the show’s reliance on 18-episode seasons can make it feel incomplete, prompting a question: why are networks pushing for such long seasons?
Despite these concerns, The Rookie remains popular among fans. When asked about the show’s future, showrunner Alexi Hawley assured TVLine in the spring that all cast members have new deals and will be returning for Season 8.
