Max has confirmed that a new season of The White Lotus is in development. For the first time in the show’s history, the series will be set at a fully vegan, eco-conscious resort called Koukoumi on the Greek island of Mykonos.
The show’s creator, Mike White, explained why he chose a vegan setting: “I’ve been vegan for years, so I wanted to reflect some of those values in the new season.” The resort, which offers holistic wellness programming and fine dining, provides an idyllic backdrop for the series’ signature blend of luxury and tension.
Several fan-favorite characters will return, including Daphne Sullivan, Quinn Mossbacher, and Nicole Mossbacher. New characters include a scandal-plagued wellness guru, a TikTok-famous fruitarian couple, and a Greek-American crypto investor. The season promises to explore themes of spirituality, self-righteousness, and the dark side of enlightenment.
However, in a nod to the show’s signature blend of humor and absurdity, it appears that The White Lotus has been pulled off as an April Fool’s Day special. While there is no official confirmation on Season 4, fans will have to wait and see if Mike White decides to bring the series back to life with another season at Koukoumi.
