The Who Sacks Drummer Zak Starkey Weeks Before Live Show

The Who’s frontman Roger Daltrey and drummer Zak Starkey had a falling out during a live show at London’s Royal Albert Hall, just weeks before Zak was fired from the band. Video footage shows the incident, in which Roger berates Zak for not restarting a song.

This came after a “huge fallout” between the two bandmates, according to sources. Pete Townshend, The Who’s guitarist, intervened and helped calm the situation.

The band later released a statement saying they had parted ways with Zak due to “a few issues with the drumming.” However, they expressed admiration for him and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Insiders claim that there were concerns over Zak’s drumming during The Who’s recent shows. The standard was not up to par, according to sources, which led to some tension between Roger and Zak.

This is not the first time Zak has hinted at bad blood with The Who. He had previously stated he didn’t know if he would be involved in their tour this summer.

Zak Starkey will now move on to pursue other musical projects, including a potential reunion with Oasis.
