Thousands Left Without Power in Mississippi Storms

Severe weather is affecting thousands of customers across Mississippi, leaving many without power. According to the Entergy OutageMap, nearly 9,000 reported customers are currently out of power, a decline from Sunday morning when there were 19,000 outages.

The hardest-hit areas include Hinds County, where over 1,600 customers are without power, and Madison County, which has seen over 2,300 outages. Copiah County also reports over 2,000 outages.

Another utility company, Central Electric Power Association, reports 101 active outages affecting over 2,600 customers. This number declined to around 700 after Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, Southern Pine Electric’s outage map showed nearly 4,500 customers without power across 14 counties, with this number decreasing to just over 1,000 by Sunday afternoon.
