Thousands of Santas Take Part in Annual Charity Pub Crawl

Thousands of Kris Kringles and jolly Old St. Nicks are coming together for the annual SantaCon charity pub crawl, spreading absurdist joy to cities around the world. The event, which takes place on Saturday, features thousands of participants dressed as Santas, elves, or other holiday characters, strolling to bars and clubs in cities from Adelaide to Vancouver.

In New York City, the festivities kicked off at 10 a.m. and are expected to continue into the evening. Participants must donate $15 to enter participating venues, with the money going to charity. Similar events are being held in over 50 cities globally, including London, Phoenix, Winnipeg, and San Francisco.

While the event is meant to be lighthearted and fun, New York City police have reminded participants to follow safety rules, such as not drinking on public transportation and not blocking pedestrian or car traffic. The event aims to spread joy and cheer, with a focus on charity and community.
