A mid-air collision between two Alpha Jet planes from the French air force’s acrobatics team has left three people injured, including one pilot. The incident occurred near an air base in northeastern France on Tuesday.
According to authorities, three people – two pilots and one passenger – ejected from the aircraft before impact. Miraculously, all three were found conscious after landing safely.
One of the planes crashed into a silo, sparking a fire, while another jet hit the ground without incident. A source confirmed that one person sustained multiple injuries, but there were no civilian casualties.
France has been using the Alpha Jets to train Ukrainian pilots since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2024. This is not the first time an accident involving French military aircraft has occurred, as two pilots died last August when their Rafale jets collided mid-air in eastern France.
