Oklahoma City Thunder avenged last week’s defeat by the Cleveland Cavaliers with a convincing 134-114 win at Paycom Centre in Oklahoma City. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team to victory, scoring 40 points in just 29 minutes.
Canada native Gilgeous-Alexander was backed up by Luguentz Dort’s 22 points and Jalen Williams’ 19. The Thunder improved their record to 34-6, tying the Cavaliers on the same mark.
Gilgeous-Alexander said the win was a test of his team’s skills, adding, “It’s the cream of the crop and obviously you want to test yourself against the best to find out where you really are.” The Thunder passed the test with flying colors.
Other notable wins saw DeMar DeRozan score 31 points as the Sacramento Kings beat the Houston Rockets’ five-game winning streak. The Phoenix Suns, Indiana Pacers, and Los Angeles Clippers also secured victories over their respective opponents.
