Tiger Woods is set to join the TMRW Golf League (TGL), a new virtual, interactive golf league in partnership with the PGA Tour. The league features 24 PGA Tour professionals divided into six teams, competing in a unique format that combines golf simulators and actual greens.
Woods, who owns Jupiter Links Golf Club, is part of the Jupiter Links team alongside Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner. The team will face off against Los Angeles Golf Club, owned by Serena and Venus Williams, among others, in their first match on January 14.
The TGL format pits two teams of three players against each other in a mix of simulator and traditional golf. Players tee off from a mat into a large screen, then transition to the “Green Zone” for head-to-head match play. The top four teams advance to the semifinals, with finals taking place on March 25.
Tiger Woods’ TGR Ventures owns Jupiter Links Golf Club, which will participate in five matches before the postseason. Woods has been open about his struggles with chronic injury problems, but recently played well in a charity event with his son, Charlie.
The TGL is designed to be more accessible for golf fans and casual sports viewers, with features like a shot clock, timeouts, and team match play. With its unique format and high-profile participants, the league promises to bring excitement and innovation to the world of golf.
