The Minnesota Timberwolves stormed into Wells Fargo Center, confidently taking on the struggling Philadelphia 76ers. Anthony Edwards set the tone early with a highlight-reel slam, and Rudy Gobert continued to dominate in the paint. The rest of the Timberwolves followed suit, turning defense into offense early and often.
Gobert’s offense reached new heights, as he pulverized opposing frontcourts for some of his most dominant play this season. However, turnovers sparked a 76ers comeback attempt, with Lonnie Walker IV leading the charge. Julius Randle also shone in another pivotal audition for his NBA future.
As the game headed into the final minutes, Anthony Edwards took control, scoring key buckets to seal the win. In a thrilling finish, Edwards buried an outrageous contested three-pointer over two defenders to slam the door shut on the comeback bid.
The Timberwolves improved to 46-32 behind Gobert’s 21 points and 19 rebounds, as well as Edwards’ 37 points. However, Minnesota repeatedly gave the 76ers opportunities to get back into the game through careless turnovers, resulting in 15 giveaways.
Despite the win, the Timberwolves will need to find their discipline before the playoffs. They’ll look to bounce back against the Milwaukee Bucks on April 8th, as they continue their quest to elevate their position in the Western Conference.
