The Tennessee Titans are confident that Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter can continue to excel on both offense and defense in the NFL. Hunter, a two-way player from Colorado, started at wide receiver and cornerback last season and holds multiple records.
Hunter’s unique ability to play both sides of the ball is a rarity in the NFL, but Coach Brian Callahan believes it’s “very realistic.” The Titans plan to manage Hunter’s workload and maximize his talent on both offense and defense. They’ve even devised a plan to handle him as the No. 1 pick.
While most two-way players give up playing both sides of the ball in the NFL, Hunter intends to continue showcasing his versatility at the next level. He’ll work out with the defensive backs at the combine and has already started training with personal coaches to prepare for the draft.
The Titans are weighing their options, including keeping the No. 1 pick or trading down to acquire more picks. General Manager Mike Borgonzi said teams have called to gauge Tennessee’s interest in moving up, but no deals have materialized yet.
