NFL Draft Analyst Todd McShay Believes in LSU Tackle Will Campbell Over Quarterbacks
NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay thinks the New England Patriots will opt for a safe choice by selecting LSU tackle Will Campbell with their No. 4 pick. This decision aligns with McShay’s assessment that Campbell is not a high-risk, high-reward pick due to his impressive performance in the SEC.
According to McShay, Campbell would fit well into the Patriots’ O-line room and become its alpha dog. However, there are concerns about whether he offers exceptional value compared to other prospects like Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter or Colorado WR/DB Travis Hunter. In this scenario, both McShay and his guest Steve Muench agree that trading down at No. 4 would be the ideal move for the Patriots.
Trading up for a quarterback is seen as unlikely, with only a 2% chance, according to McShay. If a team does decide to trade up, it’s more likely to be Old Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart instead of consensus top quarterback pick Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders.
