Toddler Causes Shocking Scare at Newark Airport Baggage System

A toddler’s accidental ride on the baggage conveyor belt at a New Jersey airport has raised concerns about safety and security measures in place.

On Wednesday, a 2-year-old child gained access to the JetBlue counter on the departures level and rode the conveyor belt all the way to the baggage room. Fortunately, the child was found safe but shaken.

Airport officials have warned that similar incidents can be fatal due to the presence of heavy machinery that could easily harm small children.

The incident is not an isolated one, with previous cases reported in 2019 and 2021, where children also rode the conveyor belts before being found by security personnel.

These alarming incidents highlight the need for improved security measures to prevent such accidents from happening in the future.
